Aug 23 Course introduction. Assignment: Before the next class meeting, email Marcia from your primary email address. In your message, give a brief explanation of your writing and reading experience. Do you read and/or write for pleasure? If so, what kinds of reading and/or writing do you enjoy?
Aug 25 Read the syllabus carefully before class. Be prepared to seek clarification of any policies, procedures or assignments you don’t understand. Assignment: Set up your blog and email a link to Marcia before Monday.

Oct 20 Come to class prepared to discuss possible topics for your Proposal/Annotated Bibliography paper. This means you should have given significant thought to real questions. Hint: This class meeting will probably culminate in some on-the-spot writing.
